egger C/II yellow 660 gr with hardener
Traditional impression method using condensation vulcanizing material. This material is mixed manually and then injected into the ear using the egger impression syringe.
Product features egger C/II:
- Condensation vulcanizing silicone material including hardener paste.
- Light pressure build-up.
- Smooth and non-sticky consistency.
- Practically non-shrink
- Highly elastic and tensile ear impressions
With all impression materials, the temperature at the time of injection is very important. The best temperature is about 21°C. In warmer conditions it is wise to keep the material refrigerated.
Mixing ratio:
Almost all condensation materials are mixed in the same ratio: 2% (0.2 gr) hardener to one 11 gr scoop.
- 0.2 gr = 1 dash of 4 cm along the length of the dispensing spoon.
- 0.3 gr = 1 diagonal dash across the size of the measuring spoon.
- 0.4 gr = 2 dashes across the length of the dispensing spoon.
The hardener paste is included, but is also available separately if needed. The impression material is supplied without dosing spoon.
Viscosity refers to the fluidity (thickness) of a substance in its unvulcanized state. In principle, it is not dependent on time. After mixing the two components, the viscosity changes.
Decisive for the accuracy of the impression is not the viscosity, but the elapsed time between the moment of mixing and the moment when the impression material is finally in the ear. Immediately after mixing the components, the vulcanization process begins, where the combination of temperature, mixing ratio and kneading time determines the accuracy of the impression. Under the right conditions, this process results in a normal copy of the ear canal and concha area. However, if the material in the impression pad is vulcanized too quickly, it results in an ear impression of an "inflated" ear.
Your client's age and degree of hearing loss play an important role in your choice of impression material to use. For an indication, please refer to the document "impression material = age + hearing loss"..
